Creator Q&A
@thefinchfamilylife shares her story & tips
Interview by KATHRYN CANE
Q1: How did you become a creator?
After my second son Roman was born I wanted to create a space to put pictures up and show him growing. I then started to post more of everyday family life which people seemed to really like. I did a little research and decided to start blogging and creating content which followers would like. The rest is history 😁
Q2: What inspires your posts?
My everyday life, struggles and my children and other mums and creators too. I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t seeing other mums posts – they inspire me to create positive posts.
Q3: What has been your biggest challenge as a creator?
Not feeling good enough and overcoming fears in front of the camera. When I first started creating content, I was nervous in front of the camera and I would never feature in my stories. I’m much more confident now (yay!).
Q4: And your biggest achievement?
Speaking to a lady who messaged me saying that my post had inspired her and that I gave her a boost that day. That was an amazing feeling. To know I’m doing what I love and making friends whilst I’m doing it too is a great achievement!
Q5: What would be your advice to anyone wanting to become a creator?
Do it! Haha, honestly, it is such good fun. First things first, be yourself. Don’t feel like you need to copy other accounts as your authentic self works best.
Q6: Your fave Instagram filter?
Slumber! (gives me a fake tan😁)
Q7: Your fave Instagrammers?
I have quite a few! Thelambfamilyadventures, _staceylouxo, savingmovingmummy, natashacherie_xo
Q8: Which camera/lighting techniques do you use?
Usually flash on camera, but recently I’ve been using ring light. My favourite is natural outside lighting. No techniques as such, but a nice background helps!
Q9: What’s your hashtag strategy?
I use hashtags that relate to my content (family, mumlife, parenting). The best thing that works for me is to use half popular hashtags and half unpopular.
Q10: The best thing about being a creator is…
Connecting with brands, trying new posts and making friends!
Thanks so much Corinne – you can follow her inspiring journey here.
